Louisiana Democratic Party Chairman Buddy Leach announced today that the state party will embark on a 10 day, 35 city tour of Louisiana to connect with Louisiana Democrats about rebuilding and the party's future. The Getting Back to Basics Tour will kick-off in Monroe on January 26, 2012 and finish off in Slaughter on February 4, 2012. Chairman Leach and state party staff will travel on the tour to meet with hundreds of Louisiana Democrats and to bring state party resources into the parishes-- the frontlines of the Louisiana Democratic Party.

Louisiana's GOP Congressional delegation sure has been busy lately, but unfortunately not busy trying to save Louisianans from a GOP imposed tax hike. Instead of working to pass the bipartisan U.S. Senate compromise that extends the middle class income tax cut, Representative Alexander (LA05), Representative Boustany (LA07), Representative Cassidy (LA06), Representative Fleming (LA04), Representative Landry (LA03) and Representative Scalise (LA01) are standing lockstep along partisan lines with House Speaker John Boehner and his refusal to vote on the Senate compromise.
